Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.!!!
Peter Pan
by J. M. Barrie
Illustrated
The children's classic of Wendy's Michael's, and John's journey to Neverland following the boy who will never grow up, Peter Pan. An adventure filled with Indians, Pirates, and the Lost Boys.
AUTHOR
J.M. Barrie had a long string of successes on the stage after Peter Pan, many of which discuss social concerns, as Barrie continued to integrate his work and his beliefs. The Twelve Pound Look (1910) concerns a wife leaving her 'typical' husband once she can gain an independent income. Other plays, such as Mary Rose (1920) and Dear Brutus (1917), revisit the idea of the ageless child and parallel worlds. Barrie was involved in the 1909 and 1911 attempts to challenge the censorship of the theatre by the Lord Chamberlain, along with a number of other playwrights.
In 1911, Barrie developed the Peter Pan play into the novel Peter and Wendy. In April 1929, Barrie gave the copyright of the Peter Pan works to Great Ormond Street Hospital, a leading children's hospital in London.

Defined a Genre! One of the best selling books internationally of all time!!
SHE
by Henry Rider Haggard
Illustrated by
Maurice Greiffenhagen
Charles Kerr
and E. K. Johnson
The story is a first-person adventure that follows the journey of Horace Holly and his ward Leo Vincey to a lost kingdom in the African interior. There they encounter a primitive race of natives and a mysterious white queen named Ayesha who reigns as the all-powerful “She”, or “She-who-must-be-obeyed”. In this work, Rider Haggard developed many of the conventions of the lost world sub-genre, which many later authors emulated.
AUTHOR Haggard was an Englishman who travelled through Africa. His novels portray many of the stereotypes associated with colonialism, yet they are unusual for the degree of sympathy with which the native populations are portrayed. Africans often play heroic roles in the novels, although the protagonists are typically European (though not invariably). Notable examples are the heroic Zulu warrior Umslopogaas and Ignosi, the rightful king of Kukuanaland, in King Solomon’s Mines.

Originally Banned Throughout the World !!!
by D.H. Lawrence
The erotic novel that got banned in several countries. A tale of a Woman who is in a marriage with an invalid who stimulates her mind with great love, but searches out physical love with another.
AUTHOR Lawrence was an English writer and poet. His collected works represent, among other things, an extended reflection upon the dehumanizing effects of modernity and industrialization. Some of the issues Lawrence explores are sexuality, emotional health, vitality, spontaneity, and instinct.
Lawrence’s opinions earned him many enemies and he endured official persecution, censorship, and misrepresentation of his creative work throughout the second half of his life, much of which he spent in a voluntary exile he called his “savage pilgrimage”. At the time of his death, his public reputation was that of a pornographer who had wasted his considerable talents. E. M. Forster, in an obituary notice, challenged this widely held view, describing him as “the greatest imaginative novelist of our generation.”

The Best Chic Lit Ever...!!!
Jane Eyre
by Charlotte Bronte
Jane Eyre follows the experiences of its heroine, including her growth to adulthood and her love for Mr. Rochester, the brooding master of Thornfield Hall. The novel revolutionized prose fiction by being the first to focus on its protagonist’s moral and spiritual development through an intimate first-person narrative, where actions and events are coloured by a psychological intensity. Its considered by many to be ahead of its time because of Jane’s individualistic character and how the novel approaches the topics of class, sexuality, religion and feminism.
AUTHOR Charlotte Bronte is the “first historian of the private consciousness”, and the literary ancestor of writers like Proust and Joyce. She was an English novelist and poet, the eldest of the three Brontë sisters who survived into adulthood and whose novels became classics of English literature.
